Thupelo workshops are artists led and are initiated in response to a need for interaction between artists. This workshop will include up to 20 artists from around the world; all with experience in their various practices and able to experiment, exchange knowledge and expand their ideas.
We invite established visual artists and critics who would like to extend their skills, exchange ideas and techniques to apply to work in this dynamic, stimulating two week workshop where discussion and interaction between artists and critics will be encouraged.
The workshop will provide the following:
A space to create, a place to sleep, 3 meals a day and basic materials.
Artists are responsible for bringing their own preferred materials, for finding their own way to Wellington, travel insurance and the cost of transporting works made during the workshop.
Evening presentations and discussions will be organised and each artist is expected to participate. The two week workshop will close with an open day event which will celebrate the work created as well as the exchange, interaction and friendships made during the 2 week experience.
