CALL FOR ARTISTS – CAPE TOWN YOUTH PROJECT

Call for artists

CALL TO ARTISTS TO SUPPORT AMAZING YOUTH MONTH PROJECT:

We are looking for artists to collaborate on a book that tells the story of remarkable youth from the Cape Flats. Since 2005, we have impacted over 140 000 lives, partnering with vulnerable youth on a journey of growth and development, delivering lasting change guided by the principle of “Choices not Charity”. To celebrate Youth Month and the achievements of past years, we will publish a coffee table book that highlights the success stories of 20 young people from Cape Town. We’re looking for 20 artists to each illustrate one story with a single artwork for the CAPE TOWN YOUTH book. The story of the particular individual will be sent to you and you can interpret it in any style and in any medium you like. Every artist will receive R500 as a contribution for art materials used in the artwork. Artists will be interviewed by young journalists who will write a profile that can be used for artists’ own marketing and we’ll also print a short biography of each artist in the book. Artists will be invited to the launch of the book on 30 June in Cape Town and we’ll promote the artists on our website and social media pages. Please send us a portfolio or some examples of your work – artists of any age can apply.
